Hello from… Skåne, in Southern Sweden—only an hour’s drive from my home base in Copenhagen. My boyfriend and I spent a long weekend in the countryside, driving through beautiful, lush fields and stopping at every loppis sign (flea market) to find charming ceramics and other antiques.
Where I’m staying… We spent a night in a tent just by the beach near Löderup. One lovely thing about Sweden is the so-called allemansrätten, or the right of public access. You have the right to roam anywhere and sleep by the beach so long as you respect nature and the animals living there. We woke up rested to the sound of clashing waves and the first early surfers heading out. We also had an incredible stay at Talldungen Gårdshotell right in the heart of Skåne—a small boutique hotel and restaurant serving rustic food. This place is extremely idyllic and relaxing. We had a lovely aperitif in their beautiful courtyard with various comfortable seating areas to lounge with a drink and a good book. We ended the night with a stunning 4-course menu consisting of simple but delicious meals made with locally sourced produce.

The best meal (or two) I had… The food at Talldungen was incredible, but we ate pasta at Pastafabrikken in Ingelstorp, some of the best I’ve ever had. Dare I say the homemade pasta was better than at Mangia in Copenhagen? I had tortellini with brown butter, peas and pecorino, and finished the meal with tiramisu with a delicious mascarpone crème—chef’s kiss!

The most fun thing I did… Exploring Skåne and the Österlen area was a highlight of our trip, thanks to its stunning beaches and charming coastal towns. One of the standout experiences was spending several lovely hours at the renowned Sandhammaren Beach, just outside Löderup. This beach truly deserves its place among Sweden’s finest. As we journeyed up the southeast coast to Talldungen, the local bakeries and kaffestugas (traditional Swedish coffee houses), such as the micro-bakery at boutique hotel Örum 119 and Kaffestugan Alunbruket (the oldest coffee shop in Skåne), added a delicious touch of Swedish fika to our travels!
The book I read… Klubben by Mathilda Gustavsson, an investigative journalist’s account of power dynamics and privileges within the art scene in Stockholm. Gustavsson gives voice to several witnesses who experienced shocking sexual abuse and harassment, shedding light on the power dynamics in the cultural art world. It is a very important and well-written book.
The playlist on repeat… I was the passenger, so I was naturally in charge of the playlist. I shuffled through our LIÉ Studio playlists, which are available on our Spotify profile.

What I packed… I wore crisp, lightweight clothes (tanks and midi skirts from Flore Fore pack well) and my favorite Summer Stones from LIÉ Studio. I also packed my Lido swimsuit and favorite sunscreen from Lesse, along with a knit for cooler evenings, jeans (thrifted Levis 501s), flats, Havaianas and sunnies. This is my general go-to packing list for a Scandinavian summer, where temperatures and weather conditions can vary widely!
The best thing I’m bringing home… I bought a brown clay pitcher/vase with hand-painted flowers on it at one of the loppis shops. (Instagram is a great resource for finding local ones!) I now have it at home as a memory of a lovely trip, and it looks beautiful with fresh flowers.
