I met the Picuasi family in 2001 when I was 26 years old and see some parallels being your experience and mine. Their welcoming me into their home and family had a profound impact on me back then and continues to have an impact on me today. I kept in touch with them and learned over the years about how they made an impact on so many travelers by sharing their culture and their graciousness. Several of these people spent enough time with the family to form a strong relationship with them. I am wondering if your were the first of the bunch that opened up the family to welcome in tourists into their home. Either way I love how easily you were able to track them down just with a photo.
